Slemani Fashion Week (SFW) is a premier fashion industry event founded in 2020, with a mission to cultivate and promote the fashion sector across Kurdistan and Iraq. SFW serves as a dynamic platform where emerging and established designers come together to showcase their latest collections, innovations, and creative visions to a diverse and growing audience. The inaugural edition of SFW was launched in 2021, featuring over 30 fashion designers and international brands, marking a significant milestone for the region’s fashion landscape. Since then, SFW has continued to grow in both scale and impact, attracting talents, brands, media, and fashion enthusiasts from around the world.
One of the defining elements of Slemani Fashion Week is its commitment to preserving and celebrating Kurdish culture. Each season, SFW highlights the artistry of traditional Kurdish clothing, offering a vibrant display of heritage alongside modern and contemporary designs. In addition to traditional fashion, SFW covers a wide range of categories including vintage collections, ready-to-wear, haute couture, accessories, and footwear, showcasing the diversity and creativity of the fashion industry. The second season of SFW took place in 2024 at the prestigious Rotana Hotel, further establishing the event’s reputation for excellence and innovation. Building on this momentum, the third season is scheduled to take place in September 2025, with plans to host even more designers, brands, and international guests, reinforcing Slemani’s growing role as a fashion capital in the region. At its core, Slemani Fashion Week is dedicated to empowering designers, inspiring creativity, and fostering cultural exchange. It continues to be a driving force in placing Kurdistan and Iraq on the global fashion map.
